Ex-Roma star fuels Ancelotti rumours

Carlo Ancelotti's former Italy team-mate Ruggiero Rizzitelli claims the Chelsea manager has held talks with Roma about a return to Serie A.

Claudio Ranieri quit as Roma manager following a 4-3 defeat to Genoa last month and Ancelotti has been linked with the vacant post at his former club. Vincenzo Montella is currently in charge in a caretaker capacity.
And ex-Roma striker Rizzitelli fuelled speculation, telling the Daily Mail: ""I believe there are negotiations with Ancelotti and Roma already. But it all depends on how much money is available. If Ancelotti comes to Roma, he expects a competitive side.
""So we have to see how much cash the owners are willing to provide for him as he will need the money to bring in important players.
""Ancelotti is a coach who earns big money, and so it's normal that he would have to reduce his demands to come to Roma."" Ancelotti played more than 170 games for Roma between 1979 and 1987 before joining AC Milan.
Last week, under-fire Ancelotti ruled out an immediate return to Italy to take charge at Roma but admitted he would like to work in his homeland in the future.
